4.0 out of 5 stars Great Price for a Rugged Sport Watch! NEW UPDATE!, March 3, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Invicta Men's 6057 Pro Diver Collection Automatic Watch (Watch)
This is my first purchase of an Invicta watch, which has been added to my extensive collection of quartz, mechanical and other Automatic winding time pieces. I gave this watch a 4.5 Stars, and I would buy another time piece from Invicta, no question about that.

Pros -

* Beautiful combination of Design, looks & Function. The face Size is perfect for me as it can be read quite easily, with a combination of large & medium sized numerical Numbers, to distinctive Smaller Dial lettering. The Cobalt Blue 2nd Hand looks fabulous against the Black face, Luminous Roman numbers and the Yellow/green Seconds markers!
* Sports a slightly elevated Hardened Mineral crystal with Large Rotating Bezel that's encased in a Large Brushed stainless steel case, with a Large, sturdy Black polyurethane rubber strap (extra rubber loop), with a stainless steel buckle and all marked with the Invicta Markings. It LOOKS like it can stop a nine millimeter bullet.
* The Photo's... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars It's OK, February 3, 2010
By
This review is from: Invicta Men's 6057 Pro Diver Collection Automatic Watch (Watch)
I got this on the e-Bayway for $40. I wore it once to move boxes out of my storage and it has been sitting in my watch box ever since.

Pros:
Inexpensive
Good beater watch
It's a modern size watch
Looks pretty good
It's been pretty reliable accuracy wise
Comfortable to wear
It's an automatic with a see-thru caseback

Cons:
Looks cheap and it is. (I wouldn't pay more than $40 for this.)
Rubber strap a bit flimsy
The crystal is raised from the bezel which would make it prone to scratches and damage.
The rubber strap has Invicta all over it. (This is just me. I don't like being a walking billboard.)

5.0 out of 5 stars My husband's favorite watch, February 5, 2011

This review is from: Invicta Men's 6057 Pro Diver Collection Automatic Watch (Watch)
I really don't understand how I am the first to give this item a 5-star rating. For the price and the look of this watch, I think it's great. I bought this watch for my husband and I think it is a very attractive watch. He actually likes how it says Invicta on the band (as someone else complained about being a 'walking billboard'). Obviously this is not a metal band and there are pros to this polyurethane band such as that it can get wet, doesn't discolor, isn't freezing cold when you first put it on and anything else you may dislike about metal bands. The head of the watch is really nice and a good size for the average man. My husband tells me it is really comfortable as well. Oh, and there is no battery, so if he doesn't wear the watch for a while, he has to re-set the time. Hope this helps.

Invicta Men's 6057 Pro Diver Collection Automatic Watch

Amazon.com Product Description

A solid stainless steel case and matching bezel gives the Invicta Men's Pro Diver Collection Automatic Watch a rounded look. A sporty, yet fashionable black polyurethane band is held safely with a buckle style clasp. The unidirectional stainless steel bezel imprinted with white Arabic numeral and stick minute markers allows the wearer to time elapsed time. A straightforward black dial is framed by a yellow inner dial ring and displays luminescent bar hour indicators as well as Arabic numeral hour indicators at the six and nine o'clock positions. A date window at the three o'clock, luminescent hands, large push-pull crown, and water-resistance to 330 feet complete this Japanese-automatic, self-winding timepiece.

Automatic Watches

Automatic watches do not operate on batteries. Automatic watches are made up of about 130 or more parts that work together to tell time. Automatic movements mark the passage of time by a series of gear mechanisms, and are wound by the movement of your wrist as you wear it. The gear train then transmits the power to the escapement, which distributes the impulses, turning the balance wheel. The balance wheel is the time regulating organ of a mechanical watch, which vibrates on a spiral hairspring. Lengthening or shortening the balance spring makes the balance wheel go faster or slower to advance or retard the watch. The travel of the balance wheel from one extreme to the other and back again is called oscillation. Lastly, automatic movements come in different types, including movements that are Swiss-made, Japanese-made, and more.

Also referred to as self-winding, watches with automatic movements utilize kinetic energy, the swinging of your arm, to provide energy to an oscillating rotor to keep the watch ticking. They're considered more satisfying to watch collectors (horologists) because of the engineering artistry that goes into the hundreds of parts that make up the movement. If you do not wear an automatic watch consistently (for about 8 to 12 hours a day), you can keep the watch powered with a watch winder (a great gift for collectors).

Pro Diver Collection

Plunge into any horizon using the steadfast guidance of the Invicta Pro Diver. Stylishly classic, internal workings are forged with variations of either Swiss chronograph or 21-jewel automatic movements and willingly navigate in depths up to 300 meters. Built with confident prowess, the fortitude with which these timepieces function makes the Pro Diver the quintessential in performance.

Screw Down Crowns: Many Invicta watches are equipped with a screw down crown to help prevent water infiltration. This is most common on our Diver models. In order to adjust the date and/or time on such a watch, you must first unscrew the crown before you can gently pull it out to its first or second click stop position. To do this, simply rotate the crown counterclockwise until it springs open. When you have finished setting the watch, the crown must then be pushed in and screwed back in tightly. Not doing so will cancel the water resistance of the watch and will void all warranties from the manufacturer. Overall, this process should not require a lot of effort or force.

  • Precise 21 jewel Japanese-automatic movement
  • Durable mineral crystal; brushed stainless steel case; black polyurethane rubber strap
  • Date function
  • Black textured dial with luminous hands and hour markers; black unidirectional bezel with coin edging; exhibition case back
  • Water-resistant to 330 feet (100 M)
